Gender Equality Movement | Trizha C. Talandron

LGBTQ

LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer. In the United States, activists began using the initialism LGBT in 1988. LGBTQ has been around for a long time. People refuse to acknowledge it, even though it has existed for a long time. They've been disrespected and humiliated for who they are. Being ridiculed for being themselves, which I believe is very unfair.

This was written to educate people about the differences between gender and sexuality. Because if you don't know, you won't know how to respect the LGBTQ community. Your sexual feelings, thoughts, attractions, and behaviors towards other people are all part of your SEXUALITY. Other people can be physically, sexually, or emotionally appealing to you, and all of these characteristics are part of your sexuality. The socially defined roles and behaviors that society normally identifies with males and females are characterized as GENDER.

Everyone must understand that, regardless of sexuality, they are still human beings with the right to learn themselves. They should not feel as if they do not belong in our society because they are humans as well and they do belong in our society. They should be treated with fairness and equality. They deserve equality. That is the primary goal of this blog.

Take, for example, the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. Miss Beatrice Gomez is a member of the LGBTQ community and has received a lot of backlash for winning the Binibining Cebu crown despite the fact that she is gay. Regardless of her sexuality, she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021. This proves that the LGBTQ community can be greater than the discrimination they receive. And this acts as an encouragement to LGBTQ people to not be frightened to come out as themselves since being themselves is equivalent to owning their world.

Equality is important for everyone because people who are fairly treated and given equal opportunities are better equipped to contribute to the community's social and economic growth and success. It's also important because removing entrenched social and economic disadvantages, an equal and fair society is likely to be safer. Without equality, it's difficult for us to evolve into better human beings. Always remember that you are loved for who you are. And that you matter because no one in this world deserves to be mistreated. Be proud of who you are rather than ashamed of who you are.
